ഇറൈയനാർ - മുടി മണക്കുന്നവൾ

തേൻ തേടൽ തന്നെ ജീവിതമായ വണ്ടേ,
എന്റെ ഹിതം നോക്കാതെ
നേരു നേരായിത്തന്നെ പറയൂ:
വരിയൊത്ത പല്ലുള്ളവൾ,
മയിലിനെപ്പോലഴകുള്ളവൾ,
എന്നിൽ പ്രണയമുറച്ചവൾ,
അവളുടെ മുടി പോലെ വാസനിക്കുമോ,
നീയറിഞ്ഞ പൂവുകളിലൊന്നെങ്കിലും?

செறி எயிற்று அரிவை கூந்தலின்
நறியவும் உளவோ நீ அறியும் பூவே.

O beautiful winged bee
whose life is choosing honey!
Tell me what you found
and not what pleases me!

Is there a flower with more
fragrance than the hair of
my woman with perfect teeth,
peacock nature and enduring love?

Notes:    This is the only poem that this poet wrote. In this song, the karu elements are the bee and the flower.  Uri is the love feeling of the hero.  The word ‘thumpi‘ is used for a bee that lives drinking honey.  It has also been used for dragonfly in other Kurunthokai poems (211, 239 and 392).
