അലസസൗന്ദര്യവുമായി മുങ്ങിനിവരാനൊരുങ്ങുമ്പോൾ
വിറകൊണ്ട തടാകത്തിനു മേൽ ചന്ദ്രൻ വീശുന്ന രശ്മി പോലെ
നമുക്കു നേർക്കു ചാഞ്ഞും കൊണ്ടു തെന്നിയെത്തുന്ന
ഒരഭിസാരികയുടെ അനന്യമോഹകമായ കടാക്ഷം.

ഒരു ചൂതാട്ടക്കാരന്റെ കൈയിലെ ശേഷിച്ച നാണയങ്ങൾ;
അഡലീനാ, മെലിഞ്ഞവളുടെ തീ പാറുന്ന ചുംബനം;
നോവുന്നൊരു ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ വിദൂരരോദനം പോലെ
ഒരു സംഗീതശകലത്തിന്റെ കാതരകരലാളനം;

ഇതൊക്കെച്ചേർന്നാലുമാവില്ല, ഗഹനചഷകമേ,
ഭക്തനായ കവിയുടെ ദാഹാർത്തഹൃദയത്തിനായി
ഉദരത്തിൽ നീ കാത്തുവച്ച ശമനൌഷധമാവാൻ.

നീയവനു പകരുന്നു, ജീവനുമാശയും യൗവനവും,
പിന്നെ യാചകരുടെ നിധിയായ സ്വാഭിമാനവും-
ദേവകളെപ്പോലവനജയ്യനാകുന്നതുമങ്ങനെ!
